For structural walls that must support large volumes of soil (to prevent erosion and landslides), we use Granibloc blocks from BÉTON PROVINCIAL.
These large, solid blocks interlock and retain their shape while offering high resistance to soil movement during freeze-thaw cycles. Reinforced geogrids make it possible to build very tall walls that remain strong and safe.
These heavy blocks can weigh up to 2,200 lbs for a small surface area of 2X2X4. Note that engineered walls over two meters tall must be reinforced with corner and cap blocks.
Their appearance mimics quarried stone, but a smooth-surfaced model is also available (non-interlocking blocks). The finish can be customized with sod, flowerbeds, concrete slabs, or asphalt.
